Claire's POV

Sam told me to go. "Yes, I am sure. I'll be fine, and we need to find out what's going on anyway. Plus, I like having you around; you're not that bad." She said something and smiled.

I gave her a smile. "Okay, but if you don't feel safe, leave, promise?" I said in a harsh tone.

Sam's eyes rolled. "Yes, I promise." When she looked at her watch, her eyes got bigger. "Shit! I have to go, because I have a meeting with him in 25 minutes." She started walking toward the door, but I stopped her before she could reach for the handle. Sam turned around and looked at me with a confused look on her face.

I said, "Thank you so much for doing this, Sam. I really appreciate it, and I couldn't have asked for a better friend."

She was happy. "I'm glad to do it, Luna." Sam then gave me a hug and left the room, leaving me to wonder if this was a good idea after all.

I was worried about Sam's safety and afraid that this whole thing was a mistake and Cai
