Chapter 69. We Need Her

Kieran’s POV

Tish insists on linking arms with me as we walk through the dungeons. I don’t know if it is because she is scared or if she is trying to assert some authority over me. But I don’t argue with her. As much as her touch makes my skin crawl, I don’t pull away from her. I know pissing her off is not the answer when she might be just the person I need to help me find Mae. So, I suck it up and walk her cautiously through the dungeons.

As we pass through the cells, the rogues approach the bars. They whistle at Tish as we walk by. Tish holds her head high, but I can feel her trembling. She is terrified.

One of the rogues is brave enough to wrap his hands around the silver bars. He hisses through his teeth as we pass. For some reason, the sound makes Tish turn in his direction.
