“Killian, where are we going?” I asked, shaking my head at my mate.

The fact that he chose for the two of us to go out was something that I didn’t understand. Normally, I knew that he wasn’t the type to like that, but then again, it was probably because I was no longer on the run that he knew that the two of us could actually go out without me feeling threatened.

“We are going out as normal couples would,” he said, making my heart swell. “The two of us haven’t had a moment alone since…”

“Killian, I never did complain about anything. The two of us knew very well that things were messed up as they were, I wasn’t going to be pressuring you over something that I know for fact that you had no control over. If anything, I would have been surprised if you didn’t react to them.” I said, choosing to be honest as I stopped him. His eyes softened, and I could hear his heartbeat calming down a little, especially since I knew that the topic itself was hard on him.
