Chapter 17
ELEANOR
I frowned as a heavy feeling settled in my chest as I walked out of the shower.
The clench felt like my heart was being stabbed more than once, and for the first time since I could remember her hiding herself, ashamed, broken, torn, and abused, my wolf whimpered.
I frowned and took a deep breath, wanting to calm her down as I tried understanding what was wrong with her. Since Elton broke her soul, she rarely ever allowed me to shift to begin with, fearing that he would hurt her more than he did to me in human form. I sat on the floor for a second and wrapped the towel around my body before shaking my head, allowing myself to take a deep breath as I composed myself.
The fear that I lived through was one that I wasn’t going to go through again.
Elton was not here, there was no reason for my wolf to be scared. I took deep and slow breaths, not wanting to sink into a dark abyss that I fought entering as I lived at that Estate by his side
