Eleanor POV
I frowned as a heavy feeling settled in my chest as I walked out of the shower.
The clench felt like my heart was being stabbed more than once, and for the first time since I could remember hiding myself—ashamed, broken, torn, and abused—my wolf whimpered.
I frowned and took a deep breath, trying to calm her down as I tried to understand what was wrong. Since Elton had broken my soul, I rarely ever allowed myself to shift, fearing that he would hurt me more than he did to me in human form. I sat on the floor for a second and wrapped the towel around my body before shaking my head, allowing myself to take a deep breath and compose myself.
