KILLIAN

I frowned when I found myself waking up in the infirmary room.

The heart monitor beeped beside me, and I couldn’t help but close my eyes as the brightness blinded my vision.

However, closing my eyes ended within seconds as I recalled what happened. My body jerked up despite the pain that I was in, and my heart raced against my chest, beating on the monitor to reflect it.

“Eleanor…”

“Killian, no,” I heard her voice as she pushed me to lay back down. I frowned in confusion for a second, processing what was going on before she pulled her hands away from my shoulders, slightly hesitant as she did. “You just got out of your surgery and need to rest,”

“How? Elton…?”

“Killian, you just woke up.” She said, her tone stern before I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her to my chest. The last thing that I remember seeing was Elton dragging her away, despite my closed eyes, it was the one thing that I heard.
