Chapter 2. Captured Slave
Talitha’s POV
I felt some liquid being sprinkled on my face and it got unbearable that I sneezed and on opening my eyes the strange environment had me racking my brain on how I got here.
And when I took in the entire environment my eyes widened in shock and not only was the man who captured me beside me, there sitting on his throne was Alpha Hades. The Alpha King of Arni.
My blood ran cold when those sapphire eyes which burnt with lavaneous flames gazed at me with venomous built up rage as his jaws clenched and unclenched.
There is no way I’m escaping this. He found me and he won’t stop until he has destroyed me and my kind, wiping us all from the surface of the earth. His hatred, revenge, and pain could be smelt from afar.
A strong grip wrapped around my throat and forced my eyes down and in turn earned me a bruise as my forehead hit the hard cold floor brushing against it in friction. “How dare you stare at the king in the eyes?” The bald man who caught me seethed in a mean scowl and his tight grip didn’t lose for a bit and blood began to pound ferociously in my head.
“Where did you see her?” The Alpha king had a powerful tone of authority but the underlying amazement was found in his voice from his soldiers’ triumph.
“Water Moon Pack in the village of Octavia. She disguised herself well but a spy was able to locate their hiding and she attacked one of our soldiers but we were quick to trail and capture her.”
“Good Abel.”
“Thank you, my king and the soldiers are still out looking for her witch sisters.”
“Tell them to return. I have no desire to capture them. She’s only what I need.”
“Yes, Your Highness.” Abel bows and shoves me harder to the floor before walking out of the courtroom. My hands quickly went over my neck and it did hurt, it had gotten swollen and I was sure red marks were blistered on them.
Unbeknownst to me, tears have been streaming down my cheek staining my dress, and when I tried wiping it with my palm my gaze locked with that of the Alpha who had a half-baked devilish smirk on his handsome face.
His long chestnut hair bounced carelessly on his shoulder as his olive skin sparkled from where he sat, his sapphire gold eyes were undressing me peeking right into my soul, and those lips of his-
What was I thinking? This isn’t the time to admire him for his male beauty that was just the surface because we both know sitting right there is the ruler of hell.
“You tried killing my soldier, is that right Talitha?” He rubs his well-trimmed visible stubble and it was doing different things to me as his hands moved around his smooth skin.
I didn’t respond. My lips felt too heavy to utter a word. I watched my best friend killed right before my eyes and I did nothing to save her, she came back to rescue me and that resulted in her death.
I’m weak. Unable to save my kind and to be what the stupid prophecy said. Anger banged in my heart. I was angry at my weakness, angry at the death of Diana, and angry at the soldier who committed the act and it was all his fault.
Alpha Hades is to blame!
I don’t know when he left his throne and in a flash, he was right in front of me with his hands wrapped around my throat as he yanked hard on my hair.
“When next I ask a question, don’t keep me waiting. You might not be lucky next time to have this head sitting pretty on your neck.” He snarled.
If previously I thought Abel which I learnt as his name grip was tight this time this was suicidal. Veins popped on my forehead, my eyes almost bulging from my socket and the hairs on my skin stood erect as goosebumps spread over my skin.
I simply nodded fighting back the tears and before I could speak he collared my neck with a smirk.
“You’re never getting away from me dear slave.”
Collared?
“No!” I screamed in trepidation as I felt something leave me.
He burst into a peal of laughter at my agony and this time his eyes grew dark with rage as he gripped my head closer to his face. We were just an inch apart. My breathing turned labored and the sobs racked my throat.
“I hate you Talitha. I hunted every town my spies saw you. I searched the deepest forest and farther into every pack of the world to fish you out. Finally, you’re here and this time I’ll make sure I’ll take everything that makes you special, gifted, and exalted and replace them with a broken, weak, and worthless slave, and not only that… I know you hate me, my name, and whose son I am. But that would change. I’ll fill you with me in every corner of your heart, soul, body, and blood. I’ll be so deep in your blood that when you bleed you bleed me.”
“You’re a monster! I’ll never let you come an inch close to me and I want nothing more than cutting off your head.”
He burst into an unhealthy laughter.
I swore never to look defeated when next I see his kind, never to let my tears drop because of their maltreatment, and never to give him the time of the day to relish on my sorrows but I failed.
I let him win easily. I let the weak tears of mine fall. How was it possible to be the savior of my kind when I couldn’t save myself?“Guards!”
