Chapter 40. I Want You
Talitha’s POV
A week to the day I accidentally ran into a roaring Abel with his threats still freshly planted in my heart. My body has healed greatly and it was duty as usual.
I went back to cleaning the kitchen. My nostrils were burning from harsh breathing from the hot weather with sweat running from my forehead.
I tried to wipe the sweat with my back palm when my eyes collided with that of Lolita as she walked into the kitchen and I could see how she shivered with shock at the unexpected coincidence.
She has been trying hard to avoid me after her false statements. People would lie to justify their beliefs and would do anything to get a few coins. Lolita clears her throat and walks past me to the other side of the kitchen reaching for the lettuce.
“I hope life doesn’t serve you with the plate you fed others else you’ll wish to change back the hands of time.”
“I’m not answerable to you. I owe you nothing.” she spat in defense and rolled her eyes.
