“Hey. Are you up for a swim?”

Nirvana turned to Shadow. “At this very hour? The water is freezing.”

“I’m sure with the power inside you, you should know by now it can regulate not to freeze your ass. I have an extra pair of swimsuits.”

“Okay. I’ll be right there.”

Shadow went back to the house. Sebastien left earlier with Zarah.

“Go ahead. I’ll be here.”

“How are you feeling?” She cupped my face and checked the blisters that had already healed. “Are you sure you don’t wanna rest?”

“Look at the view, sweetheart. This is the rest I want.”

Woods lit up in the fire pit, creating an amber glow dancing against the soft blow of the wind. The night was peaceful. The silver moon hung beautifully above us. The ocean was serene. It was romantic, but something was missing. I wished I had the ring with me right now. There may have been a reason, or the timing was not right.
