The morning sunlight spilled into the kitchen, warm and steady, but it was Liam’s touch that made the world slow. He leaned down, lips brushing mine in a kiss that was gentle, unhurried.
“I won’t be too late today,” he whispered, his breath tickling against my skin. “There’s a meeting, but nothing that will keep me long. You have any plans of your own?”
I adjusted the strap of Anastasia’s little backpack before answering, “After I drop Nasia at school, I’ve got a few errands for the pack house. Supplies that need to be ordered, a few things to check on. After that, I thought I’d train a little. It has been a few days since I’ve focused on my own training, I thought that I would go back to doing so, regain my strength.”
