Chapter 107

Everything happened in a flash. One second she was falling into a bottomless dark pit, and the next, Haven felt as if she had disappeared and appeared in a completely different. It took a while for her blurry vision to finally clear and she saw herself lying on her back and staring up at the sky.

Blinking her eyes in confusion, Haven managed to pull herself into a sitting position. No sooner had she sat up, she felt something rushing up her throat. The sudden urge to throw up made her crouch to her side a little, coughing hard as she threw up water. She coughed out some more water till tears started to fill her eyes. Her throat burned painfully making more tears gather and drop down one by one.

It took a while before she finally stopped, gasping for breath while using the back of her hands to wipe her mouth.

“ Mate? ”.

Only those words were enough to make Haven freeze on the spot. She knew that voice very well.
