Lukas POV

The drive back to the pack house was totally silent, with Mia stealing awkward glances at me once every two seconds till I could not take it anymore.

“What is it?”

She hesitated for a while before speaking.

“The doctor informed me about my condition. She said I might have a miscarriage”

“Do you want to get rid of it?”

She turned sharply, looking at me like she had just seen the most horrible creature.

“Of course not! I’m going to keep this baby and protect it as much as I can” her eyes clouded over. “It’s your child too but you sound like it’s none of your business”

I pressed my lips together. I hadn’t expected that reaction.

I wanted to explain that I was only worried about her but I kept quiet.

“How do you plan to protect it when you can’t even eat properly?” I murmured but loud enough for her to hear me.

“I’ll try my best from now on” I glanced at her as she nodded her head resolutely.
