One Month Later

“You look incredible, Bon. I’m so incredibly proud and lucky to have you in my life... to have you as my mom.” I look at Lottie to see her with the biggest smile on her face while her eyes water, and that in turn sets my waterworks off.

“No, stop that now! No water works, please. It will ruin your makeup that I worked so hard on, and I don’t have time to redo it.” Lily walks over to us as she talks, making both of us laugh. If she planned to use those words to make us stop any tears, then it worked.

She walks over to me and gives me the brightest smile.

“Of course she’s right, but it’s not the time for sentimentality. You can do that at the wedding reception.” She looks between Lottie and me with the biggest smile before stepping back.
