Chapter 146. What If It Doesn't Work?

André's POV

I spent the rest of my morning pacing around anxiously in my office, waiting for the research team to come.

Hearing that they had possibly found a solution to Olivia's symptoms put me on edge. What if the tests prove negative for Olivia? What if they harmed her? What if they didn't work at all? All that work, effort, and time would be for nothing. And I would have to keep Olivia here even longer, and that would make her even more upset.

I tried not to be negative, but worry continued to knock at the door of my mind. I didn't want anything to happen to Olivia and our child. This clinical trial was a big risk that we were taking. I was even more scared that her special genes would reject the drugs and her body would react negatively to the medication.

I heard a light knock at my study door and dashed to open it. I pulled the door open so fast that I startled the maid that stood there and she nearly lost her footing.

"Good gracious Goddess!" Sh
