I pulled Olivia close and kissed her hair. I shouldn’t have allowed her to stay. I should have known that it would be terrifying for her.

“What are you going to do about Doran?” she asked, lifting her head and looking at me.

I smoothed her hair, hesitant to reply. She h ad been through enough as it was. I didn’t want to bother her any more than I should.
