Chapter 24. Who Is the Lucky Girl?

"Are you going to tell me who this lucky lady is or what?”

I smirked and rolled my eyes.

"Why so silent, Alpha? Or did Nicole finally work some magic and seduce you? It has been obvious that she has been craving you for years.”

I chuckled and threw my head back. As my Beta and best friend. He knew how I felt about Nicole. There was zero chance of it happening.

"Hello? Earth to André? Are you going to spill the secrets or not?" Doran's voice was teasing, a hint of impatience in it as he nudged me.

I glared at him, barely holding back a smirk. "You'd better mind your business, Doran, or I might just find someone else to be my Beta."

That got him to laugh, his deep chuckle echoing down the hallway.

"Come off it," he said, shaking his head. "We both know you can’t do that. If you really wanted to, you would’ve fired me the day I swapped your conditioner for shaving cream on April Fool's."

I couldn't help but laugh at the memory. He’d pulle
