Chapter 23. I Trained Her

Caleb’s POV

Selena has been a fucking trooper, and as we are unpacking and I am side glancing her and admiring her. She stops what she is doing and turns to me with a raised eyebrow and a smile.

“What?” She asks, and I can’t help but just feign innocence.

“What, what?” I ask back and she rolls her eyes playfully.

“You keep staring at me from the side of your eyes. Don’t even think I don’t feel it.” I give her my best wide grin and am rewarded with a blush.

“Besides the fact that you are absolutely beautiful, I’m just in awe of you! You handle the confrontation with the Darkwoods in the mall so well, and everything after that. I’m so damn lucky you’re my mate!” I say, knowing I might sound like a lovesick puppy, but so fucking be it. She is so amazing and I keep being in awe of her.

I have absolutely no shame in that! Selena just stared at me for a second before returning to what she was doing. I chuckle. She is not very good at being praise
