Adrian’s POV

“I will, you horrify me but I can run fast and far so you don’t scare me anymore.”

“I promise I won’t scare you.” If she behaves that is.

“Promise me?” She petitions.

“Good.” She grins, the lights glimmering in her violet eyes.

We head back to the celebration, Santiago is glued to his seat when I walk in with Camilla. “Hi.” she smiles sweetly at him and he reciprocates her smile. I take a seat and place Camilla next to me but she soon ditches her seat for my lap. She wraps her arms around my neck and rests her head on my shoulder.

Feeling her breath so close to me has me tensed, I clear my throat and turn to Santiago. “Did you get the deal?” I ask him and he nods, chunking down his drink.
