Chapter 212

Elvira POV

The sun had barely crested the horizon when I stepped onto the balcony, the morning air curling around me. Morrien was quiet now, the kind of calm that could fool even the sharpest wolf into complacency. But I wasn’t here to indulge in tranquility. Today marked a different kind of battle.

Jaxon had left early for council meetings, his form vanishing into the mist before dawn fully claimed the sky. That left me with the pack, an eager, restless, and sometimes stubborn group of young wolves. They looked to me now with eyes full of hope, and maybe a little awe. It wasn’t something I took lightly. Being seen as a figure of authority didn’t come naturally; I’d fought for it, every moment shaped by past mistakes, betrayals, and a relentless drive to prove that strength wasn’t just muscle, it was patience, strategy, and care.
