Ronan POV
The rain had returned, heavy and chilly, falling like knives against the windows of the council area. I stood beneath the overhang corridor, the only place where the cameras didn’t reach, checking my watch for the fifth time. She was late.
Lila emerged from the shadows with the grace of a predator, heels silent, umbrella forgotten, her coat soaked to the elbows. Her eyes were cool as frost and just as unfeeling.
“You picked the most inconvenient corner of the entire estate,” she said, stopping just far enough away to show she wasn’t here to be friendly.
