"Remove her handcuffs. I'd like to hear her side," Queen Heather commanded. At her order, the female guard unlocked my wrists. I retrieved a piece of paper from my pocket, glancing at it for reference.

"I need to correct the narrative that's been spun by your queen, Heather," I began, meeting her gaze. "The late Queen Veronica made an alteration to her will. She added a clause stating that if the citizens of this realm are dissatisfied with her lineage's rule, I have the authority to step in and nominate a successor."
