Chapter 40. Agreement

Amelia’s POV

My mother’s scream made me quickly turn around and face them, even though I had tried to run away.

“Oh my goodness, Amelia! What action would you like me to take in order for you to believe?”

My wrath for her grew.

Why is it my fault that I refuse to accept the truth?

“I assure you that he is your biological father! I am not going to tell you lies like this. What do you think of me? Are we playing games? It is a fact. He is your father. We are aware of your right to know the whole story.”

I firmly shook my head. It feels as though the earth and heavens have collapsed upon me.

“No! That’s not true!”

“You may or may not believe it, but it is! You have his flesh and blood!”

“If he is my father, who is Daddy in my life? What makes you choose him over that man?”

My entire body began to ache from the sound of her voice. It was getting difficult for me to breathe now. I have to leave this place. I must head out
