Avery’s POV

The days since I arrived in the Midnight Pack had been nothing short of a whirlwind. Securing work hadn’t been easy, I’d spent hours trudging through unfamiliar streets, facing rejection after rejection, until I stumbled upon the little bar nestled on the outskirts of town.

Greg, the owner, had been kind enough to take a chance on me. He hadn’t asked for much, just that I show up on time, be willing to work hard, and keep the patrons happy. It sounded simple, but in practice, the job was anything but.
