Dylan’s POV

Julian was already a problem the moment he stepped into my territory. But when I saw the way he looked at Avery like she belonged to him, something inside me snapped.

She was mine.

I had fought for her, bled for her, risked everything to keep her safe. And now, this bastard thought he could just waltz in, draped in arrogance and entitlement, and take her away from me?

Not a chance.

“You’re not qualified to protect her,” Julian said smoothly, his grey eyes gleaming with malice. “You burned down her home. You tore apart her Pack. And now you claim to care for her?” His lips curled mockingly. “How ironic.”

I felt my claws threatening to extend as rage bubbled beneath my skin.

“You don’t know a damn thing,” I growled.

“I know enough,” Julian said, tilting his head as he cast a quick glance at Avery. “I know that she doesn’t trust you. That she doesn’t want to be here with you.”
