Bella’s POV

I rushed forward and stood in front of the maids "Why? Why would you kill everyone because I slapped you?" I blurted, glaring at him.

I couldn't believe he would want to kill so many people because of what I did. Would I be able to live with myself if so many people were killed because of me? The answer was clear...

He looked at me, his smile transforming into a deep frown as he growled at the guards behind me and turned around to sit. I was still standing there when the guards started dragging the maids away and I panicked.

I looked at the maids who weren't even crying as if they were ready to die anytime the moment they started working in the Castle and my heart ached again. Was it that hard to survive that they were ready to work at a place like this even though they knew they might die?
