Chapter 40. Devon, You Are a Jerk

Bella’s POV

I was confused as to why he was so angry with me. I was the one who was supposed to be angry that he locked my friend outside but he was the one showing his anger instead.

I was sleeping peacefully in my room when my phone started ringing. I was scared at first, thinking Kaden was unable to sleep so Devon was calling me to come take him until I saw that the caller was Trevor.

I was confused, why would he call me? We’ve not talked for days already and since I came into the castle, I hadn’t called anyone at work because Devon already settled everything there and being a highly respectable person, no one complained about him taking me away and no one disturbed me either.

I answered the call after a few seconds of hesitation and placed the phone on my ears “Hello?” I called tiredly.
