Chapter 41. I Was Nothing but A Joke

Bella’s POV

I brought out my phone, thinking of what to do at that moment. I needed to tell Trevor that he wouldn't be able to come in but how was I supposed to do that? He already waited for me for so long with the hope that I would come out to pick him up. Calling him to tell him to return home seemed improper and I felt kind of embarrassed.

I let out a deep breath as I thought about what was the right thing to do. If I called him, I would feel embarrassed, if I didn't call him, he would continue staying there and he might fall sick.

After a few minutes of deliberation, I wiped the tears off my face and made a call to him. The phone rang for a few seconds without anyone answering and ended. I called again for the second time but it was still the same result.

My heart started racing, I knew Devon would never hurt
