Chapter 137
Draven’s POV
I woke bathed in a warm, peaceful blue light—until the world ripped away into cold darkness. A sudden, crushing pain pierced my chest so intensely it jerked me fully awake. My eyes fluttered open against my will. Blurred shapes swam before me, and although the pain in my chest had faded, I felt utterly helpless. Every muscle refused to obey.
A low hum of voices drifted into my ears, but their words were indecipherable. When I forced my gaze toward the sound, it resolved into nothing but a swirl of indistinct figures and shifting shadows. I shut my eyes and drew slow, steady breaths, calming the vertigo that threatened to swallow me. When I summoned the strength to open them again, my vision was clearer—just enough to reveal a small, unfamiliar room. Panic heated through me. How had I landed here?
