Maeve’s POV
“I vote against it,” Draven said, his tone icy. His words reverberated in my mind. This can’t be happening. I struggled to think straight as every thought orbited Elias—he just can’t be sentenced to death.
I lifted my gaze to meet Draven’s cold stare. His dark amber eyes slid past me, focusing once more on the rest of the court.
“The prisoner must die,” he repeated, his voice flat.
