Maeve’s POV
“He isn’t lying,” Adie whispered inside my head, her tone so intimate it felt like warm breath on my ear.
“And how would you know that?” I shot back mentally, narrowing my eyes against her confidence.
“I can feel it,” she murmured, smoothing away my doubt as though brushing a stray worry from my mind.
I snorted inwardly. “I still think he’s a cheat and a liar.”
“But this time he’s telling the truth,” Adie replied, her voice weary with persistence.
I opened my mouth to argue, but she overrode me with a sharp inner command: Just shut up and kiss him.
Obedient, my hands found their way around Draven’s neck. In one fluid motion, I pressed my lips to his. He caught me firmly, looping his arms around my waist and returning the kiss with the same urgency.
