Epilogue

Ember’s POV

It had been almost a full month since Magda and Ulfric had met the end that they deserved. Twenty seven days we had been under the protection of the Starfell Weyr and today marked the first day that Nate would be allowed out of their Infirmary.

Physically he was doing well, his recovery period had been estimated at roughly six months to a year and so far, he was on track.

The only area that was cause for concern was his connection to Brutus. When Nate had died, so had Brutus, their souls partially absorbed by the blade that Magda had used.

Their deep connection had been severed, albeit briefly, and nobody really knew how to repair the damage that was done, so it was a case of having to take it day by day and hope that eventually, the bond would re-establish itself.
