Chapter 69. My Beloved
At Evan's insistence, the room chosen for Indah was VIP class. Hence Evan and Grace were able to sleep for two or three hours on the sofa provided there. Both had returned to their respective homes to get a change of clothes and other necessities before sunrise. The purpose was not to be invaded by neighbors with questions or comments.
When she got back to the hospital, Indah had not regained consciousness. That's why Evan ordered breakfast online for him and Grace to eat in the room.
“Evan." In the midst of the uncomfortable eating, Grace broke the silence.
Evan stopped for a moment. "Yeah? What's wrong, Grace? You don't like the food?" He could catch her slow-motion, stirring her chicken porridge.
“That's not it," said Grace. She sighed and continued, “You have an important work in Vietnam. You are a GM. So you better go back there. No worries. No need to ask Mr. Rogers for extended leave.”
