My Only Man

Being in the arms of the man I love made me realize the kind of happiness, peace, and comfort I was going to miss out on. I realized my stupidity for judging Gale; for being scared of loving a man that loves me this much.

I slowly raised my eyes looking closely at his face as he leaned his forehead on mine with still closed eyes, our breaths rugged fanning our faces.

“What’s the meaning of this?” he said, and I couldn’t help another giggle, his eyes flew open looking down at me making me suck in a deep breath. Calling upon my courage I realized this was the time for me to let him know exactly how I feel. My lips opened but no words could come out as I shut them again.

Slowly pulling away and looking down, I gathered myself looking up again at his hopeful eyes. They really did make me whisper words that I knew he needed to hear from me.
