Chapter 82. Missing Him

One of her simple requests was to drink a large strawberry cheese pop. Alaric remembered she had a cold, so he had Gio deliver her the warm drink.

As she savored the sweet and salty taste of strawberry and cheese, the look Alaric gave her that night, full of tenderness, came back to her mind.

"Please." She could still hear his deep, meaningful voice.

The warmth of the drink spread from her mouth to her heart, bringing a strange sense of peace.

It felt as if the clouds in her mind had vanished, as though the moonlight was slowly illuminating her dark world.

Alaric was right. Sometimes, if you can't see clearly, just feel it.

Even though she was about to see him, Emerald felt a wave of impatience, wishing she could sprout wings and fly to him.

As she thought this, her phone rang—it was him.

Her heart raced with excitement, and when she heard his voice—warm and deep—it filled her ears with a rush of delight. "Are you in the car?" he asked.
