Chapter 13

Emma

We arrive in town and Alex pulls into the car park of a very nice-looking restaurant. I’ve never been here, but I’ve heard of it, and it’s known to be very nice and very expensive. In the ten minutes that it’s taken us to drive here, all my nervousness has disappeared. We have talked and laughed all the way here and Alex has made me feel so relaxed that I now feel silly for feeling so nervous all day. We enter the restaurant and after Alex gives his name we are taken to a table that overlooks the beach, and it is beautiful.

“This place is beautiful Alex.” he smiles at me while agreeing, and I feel my stomach dip with nerves again while my insides stir with something else as I check him out for the fifth time since I saw him at the pack house.
