Mariana was upset, and ever since she got into my car, she had been complaining nonstop because she didn't want to come with me but with her coworker instead.
But I made it clear that it wouldn't be any different, and annoyed, she followed me to my car, and together we headed to her house.
Although I always assert my will, I wasn't happy to see her in that state, so I thought about improving my situation a bit.
"What do you think about a quick weekend trip?" Despite my attention being focused on the road, I glanced briefly at Mariana, trying to see how she was receiving my suggestion.
"No, thanks," Mariana didn't take even five seconds to refuse.
"Why not?" I insisted, already feeling annoyed with her attitude.
"I commit..." she said nonchalantly.
"But I have to be a priority in your life, Mariana," I insisted, feeling indignant about her disregard for my invitation.
"I've already told you I commit, Ethan,"
