Chapter 163. Regaining Control

The certainty that Sarah was in my penthouse made me go there that night with the sole desire to have her in my arms again. The previous night had been complicated because, even though I knew Ryan wasn't a rival, I felt jealous and decided to keep my distance from her, at least for the moment.

However, on that new day, I felt more confident and determined as I went up to the penthouse. Upon entering the living room, I found Sarah sitting on one of the sofas, using a quite old cell phone, indicating that she had been waiting for me.

"Good evening, Sarah," I greeted her. "I hope your day was pleasant."

She lifted her eyes from the phone and looked at me with a sparkle in her eyes upon seeing me. The realization that she was not immune to me, just as I was not immune to her, eased and reassured my feelings.

"Good evening, Kael," she replied, composed and showing indifference now. "I suppose being locked inside an apartment can't be co
