Although no one had the courage, or perhaps it's more appropriate to say "integrity," to inform me about the significant probability of facing paraplegia, this concern had been lingering in my thoughts. Even though I tried to ignore it, I knew it wasn't normal to feel nothing and be unable to move my legs when the rest of my body was functioning fine. However, accepting this reality and confronting the inevitable conclusion was no simple task.
