I have been watching Barry's chest rise and fall with tranquility that surprises me. For at least half an hour I've been admiring how he sleeps and how he's cuddled into a garment of mine, which just fills me with the strongest and most intense anticipation.

After all the drama of yesterday, I went to what used to be my room. Loneliness embraced me all night and for the first or second or maybe third time I wanted Barry to be here, but obviously, that didn't happen.

"Barry, wake up," I move him slightly to wake him up.

"Mmm," he mumbles in his sleep.

"Wake up, there's something I have to do-he doesn't even move, so I insist again-Barry..."I approach him slightly, he reeks of alcohol, rightly so. He can't drink without consideration when his mother has just passed away. "Barry" I slap him lightly.
