Bella inquired, "Can't you think of any way to remove yourself from this situation?"
"It's not that I can't think of anything, but the truth is, I'm waiting to see how far they're willing to go. I want to understand the extent of their determination," I responded to her question.
Since Bella arrived, we had been discussing the predicament of my forced marriage, and she seemed intensely curious about why I hadn't simply refused.
