Chapter 59
When we finally reach the hospital Jaejun mentioned, it takes me a few moments to process the reality before our eyes. The facade already gives away the shabbiness of the place, but it's when we step inside that the stark reality hits us head-on.
Walking through the hospital corridors, the murmurs and sobs of the patients echo, filling the air with a sad melody of suffering. The rooms, many of them without doors, exude an atmosphere of despair. There are people in wheelchairs and on stretchers, all scattered throughout the corridors. Their faces display not only the struggle against illness but also the physical and emotional exhaustion imposed by the environment.
With every step, my indignation grows. It's not acceptable that Jaejun has to face this situation while taking care of his grandmother. She doesn't deserve to be in such a deplorable place.
"What's the room number?" I ask Jaejun concerned.
