Chapter 39. Clarity

The day we would confront Leo had finally arrived. I did not know whether to feel anxious or relieved that we were finally doing this.

 

“Why do I get the feeling that we dodged a bullet yesterday?” Anna said.

“That is because we probably did. Walking into this alone may not have ended well.”

“Are you ready?” She asked.

I took in a deep breath and replied, “Absolutely.”

“Wait!” Anna called. “Give me your phone.”

“Why?” I asked, confused.

“Just give me, this might come in handy.”

After I unlocked my phone, I handed it to her, and she tapped away at it for a while before handing it over to me.

“What did you do?” I raised an eyebrow.

“I just took a few necessary precautions, make sure you always have your phone directly on you,” She shrugged before she propelled me out of the room. “Now go and save the day!”

I rolled my eyes and left.
