Chapter 40. Trapped
How did he know it was a trap?
“Wh-what?” I stuttered as I stumbled backwards.
“That is right darling, it is going to be just you and me. It could be like old times, in fact, why don’t we recreate some old memories?”
I darted behind a sofa, “Leo no!”
“Oh come on, you look even way better than you did back then, quite tempting really.”
“Leo, stay away from me!” I grabbed the closest thing to me to use for defence. It turned out to be a vase full of flowers.
“What do you plan to do with that, smother me with flowers?” He chuckled. “Although, it is quite a romantic gesture don’t you think?”
In response, I smashed the vase on the wall and held onto a jagged piece of it. I pointed it in his direction, daring him to come any closer. Something in his expression changed when he saw that I was serious and was not afraid to hurt him.
“Don’t be stupid, bullets are much faster and a better choice. I could kill you in a second, armed or not.”
