“Do you hear me, Liv?”

“Yes.” I responded, stepping on the accelerator, my eyes fixed on the road.

Louise had never said a word since I started the ritual of dropping off relief items for my father, so I had subconsciously concluded that she either had no idea about it, or did not mind.

But I did not care anyway. Louise, Dean, Norio, they were all distractions. I was at last close to freedom and that was all that mattered. 

I had started Dean on his journey to hell, and would break free of Louise's control in no time. 

“…come home this morning. You seem to have had a really busy day yesterday, seeing how I was unable to reach you the whole time.” My attention returned to catch the last of my aunt’s sentences.

“Who did you say you have?”

“Your blackmailer!” She snapped at me. “I thought you wanted him caught.” And I swallowed back the ‘Oh’ I had been about to say.
