Chapter 13. Marry the Younger Brother
I heard a crack, and plaster dusted to the floor like fine snow.
I looked up with wide eyes and realized the hook holding Keith’s rope to the ceiling was coming loose.
He might just fall at the next swing and die since he was upside down.
“Take,” I slipped the dagger into Keith’s hand. “You have to reach up and cut yourself loose.”
“I can’t do it,” Keith said in panic.
“I can’t either.” I yelled at him, my body trembling as Dean began to turn around, bolt loaded. “You are too high up.”
The man’s face was at my own head level, there was no way my hand would get to the rope holding him up there without a ladder.
I pushed him hard, a second before Dean’s bolt flew.
Keith curled up into a ball, attempting to cut the rope around his leg loose.
Dean laughed loudly, holding his hand out, and a guard placed a bolt in it.
