Colt’s eyes widened, unblinking as he stared at me. 

“Yes,” I smiled, feeling the first signs of mental exhaustion. “The very product that made Quivers cooperation into the father of tech was a stolen idea. Your father stole it.” 

Colt looked too shocked to speak, for the second time in one day. He had the same look as when I told him about the chip in my head hours ago. 

His reaction was a green flag though. If he appeared so horrified, it could only mean he knew the significance of this to my family, and would not want to keep robbing us of it.

“Why did your family never sue?” He asked now, and I chuckled. 

“With what evidence? My uncle died in that war and his sisters were too young to know or do anything about it. Your father wiped off all evidence when he launched Quivers and the only evidence we have that Lawrence Auclair was actually the mastermind of the nanobot is his diary. What court would take that?”
