Chapter 192. A Haunting Gift
Besides the fact that Samantha and her mother seemed to be taunting me into losing my cool with every speech they made, I had a growing suspicion that Dean and Louise were up to something.
I had no idea if it was a collaboration, or an individual project, but this eerie feeling made me feel so alone, breaking fast with my enemies like this.
My eyes glanced at the seat Colt had sat on just last night, and I stood up, tapping my phone awake. Zero calls or texts from Colt.
“What time is the candlelight ceremony?” I directed my question at Dean, because despite Colt’s instruction, I could not stand one more minute cooped up in this house.
I would go spend the day at the beach, hopefully undisturbed this time.
“What?” Dean said, and I looked up from my phone to find Samantha glaring daggers at me.
“Your mother’s candlelight ceremony.” I fixed my seat, and stepped back to stare at him in the easy sweater he had on.&
