Chapter 284. It's Almost Time

There were no guards or masked men in sight when I drove into the garage, except, of course, the ones who had driven behind me.

Unlocking the door of my boaty, my hand caressed the chrome-textured body, exhaling at the silence in the house, so absolute, it echoed.

But this was home regardless, and I looked forward to coming back here every day more than I had done anywhere, even to my houses in all my adult years. 

Pushing the front door open, my eyes dropped to the floor where Tara had stood to announce her pregnancy, and my heart ached.
