Chapter 7. The Bride
I sat in my wedding dress, staring out the window as our wedding guests arrived in Rome.
I caught my reflection in the window and winced. I had lost so much weight since that damned night. Guilt was eating me alive.
My phone beeped, and I opened it to Colt’s message. “I will wait till the last minute.”
I broke down in tears. He told me I could change my mind at the altar, and he would still be ready to whisk me away.
My phone beeped again, and I cried harder, hesitating to look at it.
I may just lose common sense and actually call off the wedding. And then my Aunt would blow up the chip in my brain as she had threatened.
Finally, I ran my index fingers across my lashlines, and opened my eyes, but my gaze immediately fell on a mascara tear drop on my white dress.
