Chapter 90. The Perfect Match
He was clearly waiting for an explanation following what I said, but I was not sure how to phrase my words.
“What are you sorry for, Olivia?” he asked.
“The way I have treated you so far,” My voice came out low.
He seemed to relax, and I could not help but wonder what he thought I’d been about to say.
“It’s OK,” his fingers splayed on my face now, caressing and pushing my hair back. “I deserved it.
I shook my head.
“Shhh,” he cooed, pulling me close till my face was resting against his chest. “You need to rest, baby.”
“Ok.” I whispered, adjusting my neck to tuck my head under his chin.
“Good.” His lips kissed my forehead. “Close your eyes.”
A small smile crossed my lips as my eyes closed. And in my exhaustion, I drifted off within seconds.
