Chapter 40

Fred's POV

"Do you want to talk about these frustrations that I never noticed, Rebecca? "I suggested in a gentle tone, keeping my hands in my pockets so as not to touch her. She could understand that as another form of persuasion. "If you want, let's go somewhere else.”

"No," she said, nodding her head and slipping slightly against the car. The dress she wore left much of her thighs on display, and when she tried to straighten herself, it only made the fabric rise even higher. I avoided looking. "I want you to go to hell and leave me alone. I don't want to make peace with you anymore. You're a pain in the ass.”

"Yes, I'm here because you wanted to apologize, and I also want to apologize. So, please, Becca, make things easier.”

Rebecca narrowed her eyes towards me, suspicious.

"You were with someone else, you idiot. And can't I be with someone else too?”

"Do what you want with your life, Becca. Just don't put yourself in danger.”
